Jacqueline Ariel Howell is a graduate student and graduate research assistant in the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Arizona. She received a BS in Sustainable Built Environments from the University of Arizona with a focus on heritage conservation. As part of her capstone project, Ariel worked with local elementary schools to enhance education through school gardens. She intends to combine her experience in school gardens with the technical skills learned during the MLA program to improve public spaces. Her primary interests include the preservation of cultural resources, resiliency planning, and the intersection of public health and green spaces. In her free time, Ariel enjoys hiking, taking her dog Summer to the park, and caring for her houseplants and garden.
